This Exabyte Model EXB-8200 8MM Digital Tape backup drive with it's SCSI interface is usually found on high price dedicated servers in a corporate networking environment. This drive assembly is made up of six PC boards and a precision electro-mechanical transport mechanism for the eight millimeter digital tape that it uses. All of those components are enclosed in a strong, heavy metal case. It can be used as it is, as a dedicated network backup device, or it can be disassembled to remove the many high-tech components it contains.
