This is an excellent, high quality, Japanese made precision Permanent Magnet [PM] DC motor in a sturdy aluminum housing with an attached 10T brass gear and dual heavy-duty bronze bearings. This fully shileded motor starts to rotate CCW [Counter Clock Wise] at around 1 Volt. Load current is about 20-40 mA [milliAmperes]. It runs super quiet with very low power. This motor drives many loads smoothly and with a small PM or stepping motor and a rubber band as a belt it would make a classy but simple precision, low distortion sine-wave generator, a nice power generator with a small windmill or some other great science project.
