Orion 011 Two Tube Audion Radio 1940 Vintage Restoration Data Picture Schematic

This wartime Orion 011 was a low price, simple basic receiver, a two tube, single band, clever design radio set from 1940. It was a reflex feedback audion straight receiver without IF frequency amplification. The first tetrode part of the dual VCL11 tube is used as RF [Radio Frequency] and AF [Audio Frequency] amplifier. The triode half of the first tube provided further audio amplification. Designed to be used with a good long antenna, and ground it was a very dependale set. The radio is housed in a basic bakelit enclosure with a small illuminated glass scale with the European city names marked for each strong station. This exact set was also sold as the Philips 22V, Telefunken 140V, 141V, and Standard 2011.
